At Broomgrove children have access to a range of tools which compliment the Computing Curriculum, the curriculum is split into three core strands; Programming, Information Technology and Digital Literacy which also includes Online Safety.
Across KS1, children are introduced to programming skills with the Beebots and developed through the use of ScratchJnr and a Coding Club in Year 2. Children have access to iPads and laptops to further enhance the curriculum - each KS1 class has an allocated slot across the week for Computing and during these slots have sole use of the iPads and laptops. Staff are encouraged to also utilise the iPads and laptops to enhance learning in other areas of the curriculum.
As part of our commitment to Online Safety, children all participate in the Jessie and Friends unit of work. This has been produced and is supported by CEOP. Staff also have access to Project Evolve which covers all elements of Online Safety as stated in the Education for a Connected World document.
All children have a personal network user and password alongside a Microsoft Team account which they can use at school and home to access a full range of Office software and to support their learning when working remotely from the classroom.
